You'll be able to purchase/change weapons at checkpoints between both chapters and episodes.
#PARASITE EVE 3 UPGRADE#
You can also upgrade parts for each weapons as long as you reach that weapon class' required level (you increase the level by using the weapon) but the upgrades cost B.P. based on the difficulty you're playing on, how long it took you to beat that episode, how many soldiers died, and how many times you died. As you progress through the game, you will be able to unlock new weapons you may use by possessing soldiers that are equipped with a weapon you never had but you havd to buy them using "B.P." which is obtained by defeating enemies, completing feats (challenges that can be found in the feats option on the pause menu), and finishing the Episode. There are a few features I would like to mention. When the "Liberation" meter is filled (done so by attacking) press /_\ + O to go into "Liberation" mode which puts Aya in a trance where she runs faster, auto dodges most attacks, increases defense, has unlimited ammo with dual pistols, and glows a pretty color. The L shoulder button brings up the weapons crosshair and the R shoulder button fires the equipped weapon. The analog stick controls Aya, the D-Pad controls the camera as well as equip the weapon associated to that button (when holding ), X makes Aya roll/dodge, brings up the weapon menu when held as well as reloads your weapon, O throws a grenade, /_\ puts you in "Overdive" mode which allows Aya to go from one soul to another (yea, she can do that) that's available around her (such as soldiers since they're helping her as they don't realize the person they see is possessed by Aya's soul as well as possess an enemy's body causing damage to it when it can be done. Even Parasite Eve 2 tried to make some sort of connection between the two games. The game doesn't even mention any events from the prior games at all other than Aya has a younger sister named Eve.that's about it. You could call this game by any other name and it would be acceptable. The story has nothing to do with Parasite Eve at all. The dialogue sounds like it was spoken word for word through translation as opposed to rewriting it with minor changes so it sounds more natural. My thoughts on the voice acting is rather simple, Japanese is always better than American since the original game is in Japanese. Makes me think that they're the same model bit with different skins and boobs added on Aya. I'll say once again that the cut-scene graphics are absolutely beautiful but the in-game graphics are basically the same as Final Fantasy: Crisis Core. I touched upon this game in one of my earlier postings but now that it's out in English, I can finally understand the dialogue, the controls, the plot, and how this game is Parasite Eve in name only.
